	Some interesting facts while we wait for kick-off: Algeria were crowned AFCON winners in 1990 and have appeared at the World Cup three times. They are ranked 19th in the world and second in Africa behind the Ivory Coast. The two sides have faced each other twice in the past, with Bafana defeating the North Africans 2-1 in the quarter-finals in 1996 before a 1-1 draw in a Group B match in Ghana in 2000.

	And ahead of their opener against Cape Verde, who recently lost 1-0 to Ghana before drawing 0-0 draw with Nigeria in their own warm-up matches, Bafana will be eager to put in a solid performance and bang in some goals!!
	South Africa come into this match on the back of a demoralising 1-0 defeat to a make-shift Norway side at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday where they created plenty of chances without hitting the back of the net.
